There are a lot of issues revolving on food especially when it comes to sustainability. A change of habit is required, however there is a lack of awareness and accessibility on this. Public tend to go for industrial production over farmer for fresh goods and multi-chain franchises over local food stalls for ready-made food. There is lack of choices on local-made and healthy food with a low cost. In the end, the choices of our food has an impact not only on community but also on environment. Besides, underserved communities who run a food business do not have a proper place to conduct testings for the products.
We are curating a platform that host events in a monthly basis to highlight on different topic of food revolving on food sustainability. We will be covering food waste, food with community empowerment and healthy food.
The format of events will vary from month to month, including food challenge, forum, cooking classes, farmer market or community canteen. We will be including perspective and involvement from different entity including non-government organizations, social enterprises, or local communities. We also aim to empower more underserved communities who are running food business in term of market access. The monthly event is a great occasion to gather like-minded people to offer or receive different kind of resources and connections.
