The Project

Project Owner

Location

Problem

Residents have been too ad hoc in making complaints and have not strived for a systemic and structural change in the running of the city council. There is a lack of institutionalise public participation.

Solution

We would be conducting Citizenship Education Classes for the residents in the area of responsibilities of councillors, ADUN, MPs and the role of the State in creating a Liveable and Sustainable City. We would also be conducting a National Conference on Citizenship and Local Council Elections in Kuala Lumpur.

Target Beneficiary

The citizenship education classes are held throughout the Petaling Jaya area

Impact Parameters

1 – Number of residents that attend our local courses in all 24 Wards 2 – Number of attendees at the National Conference 3 – Awareness of the need for local council elections of mayor and councilors 4 – Closer unity of Residents Association in all the 24 wards.
